Buttermilk Scones

Light, fluffy and utterly delicious! These are so easy, this will quickly become your ‘go-to’ recipe.
Ingredients | Method |
– 2 1/2 cups of self-raising flour – 2 Tbsp sugar – 1/2 teaspoon baking powder – 60 g butter (room temp) – 1 cup buttermilk | 1. Preheat oven to 210°C 2. Sift flour, baking powder and sugar into a bowl 3. Rub the butter into the flour 4. Fold in buttermilk with a fork 5. Lightly press to 3cm thick on a floured surface 6. Cut into rounds with the rim of an upturned glass dipped in flour 7. Bake on lined tray for 10-15 mins |

– sieve – lined baking tray – bowl – water glass | * Best served warm from the oven, with a bit of butter, or jam. (Maybe cream for decadence). * When sifting flour, sprinkle in turmeric or cinnamon for earthy flavours |
